LCM WAVE FUND
At the start of each school year, we ask families to donate to our WAVE Fund to bridge the gap between public funding and our school's unique needs. This year we are asking our LCM Dolphin families to donate a minimum $150 per student to our Wave Fund.

If you haven’t made your donation yet to The Wave Fund, we wanted to share with you just how important your contribution is to our school. This year the PTO has funded the salary for a STEAM teacher for the school, which is 100% funded by your donations. This is amazing and we are so proud to be able to do this.
Please take the time to donate today!
"Greetings from Molly Burt (aka Mrs. Burt), the new LCM STEAM teacher! I am a multiple subject credentialed teacher and also a parent here at LCM! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to supplement our children's education with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math lessons, activities and projects.
I am working with an incredible curriculum from the Museum of Science, Boston called Engineering is Elementary (EIE) and I've been planning a year of fun, meaningful and engaging STEAM experiences using EiE. The students and I will also be learning and working in our school's science garden and
I know we all are excited to get the garden up and running/growing again!
I believe this class will empower our LCM students to become life long STEAM learners and passionate problem solvers! I have a wonderful feeling your child will look forward to STEAM class with Mrs.
Burt!! Feel free to volunteer with your child's class and join the fun! Thank you for supporting the PTO and making this STEAM class a reality here at LCM!" - Mrs. Burt :)
Due to recent budget cuts across the state and district, the WAVE Fund needs your support now more than ever. In addition to our typical contributions for teachers, supplies/technology, special events, and enrichment programs, for the 2022-2023 school year, the La Costa Meadows PTO is providing funding for the annual salaries of key roles (listed below) totaling $75,000 for this academic year
- Social Worker (partially PTO funded)
- STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) Teacher (100% PTO funded)
- 2 Intervention Aides (100% PTO funded)
As we all know, post-pandemic these roles are more important than ever before as they help enrich learning and are essential to the social/emotional needs of many students. Unfortunately, without your support, these positions would not be funded this academic year. In order to continue to provide this level of support we need your help. This year we are asking our LCM Dolphin families to donate a minimum $150 per student to our Wave Fund.
If it is within your family’s means to do so, please donate generously. However, no donation is too small. Your donation will allow the PTO to continue to support the extra programs and fund staff that are so important to our school.
Your PTO donation is tax deductible and 100% of your donation goes directly to support LCM programs. Please ask your employer if they provide a corporate match of your donation funds. Many companies provide a match at no additional cost to you and in turn, doubles the funding for the school!
If you are unable to make a financial donation at this time, there are many other ways to get involved! Please consider donating your time and volunteer at one of our LCM PTO events.
